What is the Tri-Town Board of Health and how often do they meet?

The Tri-Town Health Department is a regional Health Department that was established in 1929 due to a milk outbreak. The three towns joined together and began sharing a milk inspector and we have now evolved into a full functional department in which many services are provided to each town.

Each town has a respective three (3) member Board of Health but all three towns join together on a quarterly basis and are responsible for establishing policies and procedures to protect public health under the authority of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 111, section 31. Each member has a three year appointment that is staggered.
