How do I schedule a Food Truck Inspection?
Any Mobile Food Truck or Trailer must be inspected and permitted by the Fire Department to operate in the Town of Lee.
All Food Trucks must comply with NFPA 96, Ventilation and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations, unless exempted by Lee Fire Department (527 CMR 1.00 Sec. 50.2.1.9).
Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in kitchen cooking areas and shall be specifically listed for such use (NFPA 96 10.10.1 and 527 CMR 1.00 Sec. 69.3.12.8).
A minimum of one extinguisher (at least 2-A:10-B:C) for internal combustion generator (527 CMR 1.00 Sec. 10.15.10.4)
To schedule and inspection, call the Fire Department at 413 243-5550 at least 3 days before the intended date you will be operating in the Town of Lee.
This inspection does not include the permitting through the Health Department that would be necessary to vend food products.
