The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation has announced that the Beartown State Forest will be reopening its campground for the 2024 camping season! The first night available to camp will be Tuesday, July 30th and the last night to camp will be Sunday, October 13th.

While the campground has been resting for the past few seasons, DCR has been hard at work. There has been a $350,000 investment at Beartown including an expansion and repairs to the water system and two new remote bathrooms. Other improvements include a new full time staff position, new grills and picnic tables, new potable water spigots around the campground, and they are in the process of installing internet to be able to run ReserveAmerica from the campground.

Reservations must be made online: Campgrounds and Camping Reservations - Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (www.reserveamerica.com) or by calling 877-422-6762 ahead of arrival, same day reservations can be made until 2 pm EST on date of arrival.
