Please join our last spring service day May 31st 10-12: help with downtown gardens and the ongoing invasives challenges at Golden Hill Town Forest

Downtown gardens make Lee tons more attractive. Please help us May 31st!
Downtown gardens make Lee tons more attractive. Please help us May 31st!

How time flies! Summer is just around the corner. And we have so much to do! Please join us Saturday Mary 31st from 10 to noon - either help with downtown gardens or with invasives. The rain date is Sunday June 1st 1 to 3 pm.

Our downtown gardens make Lee inviting and attractive. We'll be planting plugs in the gardens at the Chamber's information booth. If enough people come we'll also spruce up Teddy Bear Park near Joe's Diner at the north end of Town. People interested in helping with this should meet in front of the information booth at the corner of the Churck Park.

Battling invasives requires an ongoing effort. This month at Golden Hill Town Forest (GHTF) we'll continue pulling out garlic mustard and cutting back the honeysuckle. It's rewarding work - you can immediately see the results of your efforts. The more volunteers we have, the more of a difference we can make! If you want to help, please meet in the GHTF parking lot off of Golden Hill Road north of downtown.

Please bring work gloves and appropriate tools, if you have any (if you don't, we have some). For your safety, we ask that you:

  • dress tick smart - and check yourselves and your clothes when you get home
  •  wear clothes appropriate for the weather

Our combined efforts will enhance downtown and help native species thrive, which will help local wildlife. Downtown and GHTF will be more appealing for all to enjoy!

We need YOU!
