Founders Day Postponed Until 2022

The Lee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces the postponement of Lee Founders Weekend until September 2022

After careful consideration of the current, and ongoing, COVID-19 crisis in Massachusetts and the nation, the Board of Directors of the Lee Chamber of Commerce by unanimous consent has reluctantly decided that postponing our annual event is in the best interests of our community. As many events that occur during Lee Founders Weekend would preclude mask-wearing and social distancing, the Board sees that is would be difficult to ensure the safety of the performers, vendors, and attendees without dismantling the fun aspects of the weekend. Based on information garnered from the local business community, our public safety professionals, and guidance from our local Boards of Health we think this decision is in the best interests of our community.

“While we are saddened to have to take this action, the Chamber of Commerce has a duty to encourage and protect the long-term public health of our community and fiscal health of our business community,” said Bob Healey, Lee Chamber of Commerce Board President. “We look forward to rescheduling this fun and important event as soon as we can practically and safely do so. Hopefully our event will be back in September of 2022 to celebrate Lee’s 245th birthday”

If you have registered as a vendor for the event, you will receive a refund in the mail within two weeks.

If you have donated to our Fireworks Show and would like a refund, please contact the Chamber Director, Colleen Henry, at 413.243.1705 or email: director@leechamber.org. If we do not hear from you, we will appropriate your donation to the 2022 Fireworks Show Fund.
