FY2011 Community Development Strategy and Community Development Block Grant Application

The Lee Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing to review and receive comments on the FY2011 Community Development Strategy and Community Development Block Grant Application on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 7:00PM  in the Town Hall Courtroom, 32 Main Street, Lee MA. The draft CDS and proposed activity description is available at www.leecdc.org or here (below), and at the Lee Board of Selectmen’s Office. Comments on the CDS will be accepted at the hearing and in writing until September 14. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED WATER AND SEWER REGULATION REVISIONS

The members of the Board of Public Works (BPW) have posted on the Town of Lee’s website, lee.ma.us., revised water and sewer regulations dated August 10, 2010. To obtain public comment on those proposed regulations, the BPW will hold a hearing at 3:45 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in the former courtroom within Memorial (Town) Hall, 32 Main Street, Lee, MA. Verbal comments will be welcome at the hearing. Town Clerk Suzanne Scarpa has announced that absentee ballots are now available at the Clerk's office, for the State Primary on September 14, 2010. If you are going to be out of Town, in college, sick or in the hospital, or for religious beliefs, you may file for an absentee ballot. The Clerk's office is open from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM. Monday through Friday.

Hazard Mitigation Fact Sheet:  Mackenzie Greer, Berkshire Regional Planning Commission Community Planner, came before the Board Of Selectmen to present a brief explanation of the regional hazard mitigation plan. She explained that this plans looks at the effects of natural disasters before they occur. This will be reviewed by both MEMA and FEMA and grant funds will be available to repair conditions or repair/replace structures that are deemed a hazard by the town. She will be working with the police and fire departments on identifying problem areas and also encourages public input.
