The retail training program trains retail clerks to ensure that they understand state laws and local regulations that apply to the sale of tobacco products.

The Tri Town Health Department has been granted funding through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program since 1994.
Our program consists of a wide variety of programs and services that include:
- Inspections for compliance with youth access regulations;
- Tobacco sales compliance checks;
- Tobacco retailer trainings;
- Assisting Boards of Health in drafting and the adoption of tobacco control regulations;
- Responding to complaints concerning environmental tobacco smoke and assisting Boards of Health; and
- Educating the community about the dangers of tobacco products and the effects of secondhand smoke
