We're well into our peak outdoor and tourist season and Lee is bustling, so it's important that we work KEEP LEE CLEAN. We have a special event coming up that is designed to do just that. We're partnering with the Housatonic Valley Association to focus on the river.

Due to high water and potential storms the special Housatonic River cleanup with the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA) scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, August 14, 4-6:30 has been postponed, tentatively until Saturday September 29th from 9 to 1 We'll meet at the parking area for the Lee Athletic Field on Housatonic Street. Crews will be dispersed along the stretch from the Rte 20 bridge next to Lucky's all the way to the Athletic Field. We'll provide gloves and trash/recyclables bags and will treat volunteers to a pizza lunch thanks to the support of Big Y! Expect to get wet! Wear old sneakers and old clothes. Canoes will be used to help move the trash. IF YOU PLAN TO JOIN US, PLEASE  REGISTER WITH ALISON DIXON AT HVA BY MONDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH: 413.394.9796 or adixon@hvatoday.org.

At this event meet friendly, like-minded people, have fun outside, and show that Lee residents care about keeping our river clean and attractive. If you can't make this one, perhaps you'll pick another time to clean up along roads near where you live or love to walk or ride. Join us for the next monthly cleanup - Saturday August 25th. One way or another, you'll be making a difference and helping to KEEP LEE CLEAN!
