For the past several years, we've publicized simple and cost-saving ways to reduce waste during the year-end holidays. We've had displays at the Post Office and Public Library -- look for the latest ones this year. For several years we collaborated with the Lee Lions Club to collect holiday greens and bring them to the goats at the Monte Vista Farm on East Street (the goats did LOVE the greens). However, the farm can no longer accept greens, so we're doing something new this year, which we hope will become a tradition:
