Accurate and effective recycling minimizes waste, litter, and pollution; conserves natural resources; and saves money and energy. The Town has had a recycling bylaw on the books for for decades. Yet, many people are confused about what can and cannot be recycled. Recycling guidelines vary by processing facility and are also affected by broader market conditions, which contribute to the confusion.
To help residents, business owners, and others properly and fully recycle we are trying to obtain the recycling guidelines from the two major waste haulers serving Lee and will post them when we receive them. In the meantime, if you are unsure about what items you can recycle through curb-side pickup, please contact your hauler:

The Lenox Valley Waste Transfer Facility in Lenoxdale accepts a wide range items for recycling and trash disposal. You can visit its website or call (413.637.1101) to obtain more specific infiormation. The facility is open to the public and used by many Lee residents.
For your information, we believe that Daley & Sons accepts all plastics with recycle codes 1-7, whereas at this point,the Lenox Valley Waste Transfer Facility only accepts #1 and #2 plastics.
