Welcome to Lee Townhall
Town of Lee Ambulance Service
There are currently 49 members on our roster. The service is licensed at the Paramedic level. Of the 50 members today, there are 26 EMT’s, 9 EMT-Intermediate’s and 14 Paramedics.
Becoming an EMT today means a serious commitment by each member. An EMT-Basic class requires a minimum of 110 hours of training, an additional 200+ hours of training for EMT-Intermediate, and 1200+ for an EMT-Paramedic.
Each EMT must attain a minimum of 40-60 hours of continuing education every 2 years to maintain their certification. Not only is this a significant commitment by each member, but also by their families. We are very fortunate to have so many dedicated members.
Currently Lee Ambulance responds to more than 850 emergency calls per year and serves the towns of Lee, Stockbridge, and Tyringham, and a 25 mile section of the Mass Turnpike.
Lee Ambulance currently has members from a number of Berkshire towns including Becket, Hinsdale, Tyringham, Pittsfield Great Barrington and Dalton.
Day to day operations, training, equipment, vehicles, and building expenses are paid for through revenue generated and not taxation. This and the time generously donated by our volunteers has allowed us to offer exceptional patient care and service to the communities we serve.
The Ambulance Service also provides public safety and educational services to the community through public first-aid and CPR classes. We also provide first-aid coverage at special events and sport activities. Lee Ambulance Service is an accredited Training institution. Please see our “Education” page for more information.
